Get Involved
Bring energy into the classroom
How Can SPE Members Get Involved
As SPE members, connecting with your local community is the best way to teach energy education. Whether it is a classroom presentation, judging a science fair or presenting at a community event, any knowledge shared will help create a more objective and educated view of the industry. It is easy to get involved.
A Slinky and a two foam cups. A sponge, a plastic straw and a plastic baggie. These elements may sound like items on a scavenger hunt list, but they are actually supplies needed for a totally different type of endeavor – learning more about energy and tracking down an ideal career in in the industry.
If you would like to get more information on how to conduct energy4me programs in your community or share what your section or chapter has done, go to the SPEConnect Energy Education Community or email us.
You can also sign up to be an Energy4me Ambassador through the SPE Volunteer Portal. You will be required to particpate in a training workshop and complete at least one classroom visit per year. Once you have conducted a workshop or classroom vistit, be sure to fill out an activity report so your outreach will be recorded. You can find resources in the Presentation and Guides link below.
