SPE Stavanger Donates Books and Kits

60 "Oil and Natural Gas" books and two Energy4me Kits were donated to the University of Stavanger, 30 books and kits for both the international school of Stavanger and the British school of Stavanger were also provided. Read more.

SPE Alaska Funds Oil and Natural Gas Books for AMEREF

SPE Alaska Petroleum provided funding for "Oil and Natural Gas" books to be given to Alaskan teachers through the Alaska Mineral and Energy Resource Education Fund (AMEREF).

 

San Joaquin Valley 'Engineers Day' reaches over 500 students
This ninth annual event organized by the San Joaquin section was held at the Kern County Museum during National Engineers Week.  This years’ event was expanded to two full days due to popular demand. Read more.

Penn State Chapter celebrates E-Week with oil reservoirs
Members of the Penn State SPE Student Chapter showed school-age children how to construct their own oil reservoir using colored sand and black paint at the Engineers Week observance in Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Science Center in February. The Chapter, along with members from the Pittsburgh Petroleum Section, gave out information on petroleum engineering and engaged students and adults in discussions about career opportunities in the petroleum industry.

Energy education program launched in Saudi Arabia
In line with SPE International's Energy4me program, SPE's Saudi Arabia section introduces students in local community schools to the science of energy, builds their awareness of energy issues, and enlightens them to career opportunities. Read more.

SPE Delta Section is gold sponsor for FIRST LEGO competition
Using LEGO Mindstorm kits, teams worked over a six-week period programming a robot. Students ages 9-14 learned programming, robotics, problem solving, research and teamwork realted to this year's challenge topic, Climate Connections.

 

Books and teacher kits donated to schools in California
With the help of Lyn Arscott, SPE's Golden Gate Section donated 34 copies of SPE's "Oil and Natural Gas" book and Energy4me speaker's kits to San Ramon Valley Unified School District, CA.

Energy boost for Aberdeenshire primary schools
