Donate Materials to Teachers Attending Workshops
Teachers who attend professional development workshops are excellent recipients of our Oil and Natural Gas educational books and Energy4me Kit. Teachers learn hands-on activities at the workshops that support the book’s key topics. Plus, teachers can download free lesson plans that correspond with the book from Energy4me.org, making it a useful tool throughout the school year.
Having someone from your section/organization present the materials during a workshop provides an opportunity for you to let teachers know you’re available to give classroom presentations, participate in career days, judge science fairs and more, and it helps them put a face with our industry. Energy4me donates books to teacher workshops in areas where there are not local SPE sections. We rely on the generous support of SPE sections, corporations and other organizations to reach teachers in their own communities.
Many SPE sections and corporations also donate Energy4me materials to pre-university students during special events, such as Engineers Week.
Educating Students
Many SPE sections and corporations also donate Energy4me materials to pre-university students during special events, such as Engineers Week. The book is a great way to present the facts about petroleum while inspiring the next generation of aspiring engineers, scientists and managers to join the oil and gas industry. Students with a special interest in math and science or the petroleum industry often enjoy receiving the book as something they can share with their parents and keep for reference.
